The Hidden Cameras, Konzert

Directly after the improvisation performance - Freistil - we would like to invite you to an unusual ‘unplugged’ concert by the “The Hidden Cameras”. Jamie McCarthy, who plays violin, will have already performed in the improvisation part of the programme. This finest folk-rock with enchanting melodies will fascinate you.

“The band itself is an organized contradiction. On the one hand, egomaniacal Joel Gibb from Toronto has total control: he writes all the songs, sings and is the sole representative of the band to the public. On the other hand, the Hidden Cameras is an open project, and wherever they play old and new friends are invited on stage.” Review from Die Zeit, 24 April 2008.

So come to the Ufer Studios in Wedding and enjoy.

Rare Acoustic Set by the Hidden Cameras:
Live, the Hidden Cameras are best known for their ecstatic shows featuring large groups of musicians, choirs and wild, masked go-go dancers; this is how they performed to thousands of football fans at the Allianz Arena for Mehmet Scholl’s farewell match in 2007.
The band centres around songwriter and lead singer Joel Gibb, who is originally from Toronto but now lives in Berlin. The songs, which often refer explicitly to themes of gay sex, love and life, run the gamut from tender and heartfelt to joyous pop.
This gig is a rare chance to catch an intimate acoustic set by Joel and members of the band. Not to be missed.
