Performer/Musiker Ingo Reulecke mit Aga Dziubak, Biliana Voutchkova, Rosen Zahariev ‚roko‘
Die gemeinsame Lust an zeitgenössischer Musik und Performancekunst verbindet die Gruppe um die drei Musiker Aga Dziubak/ Cello, Biliana Voutchkova/ Violine, Rosen Zahariev ‚roko‘ Klavier / Trompete und dem Tänzer / Choreografen Ingo Reulecke. Die beiden engagierten bulgarischen Kammermusikerinnen sind kühne Improvisatorinnen. Sie teilen die Leidenschaft für das Unbekannte und das unwiderstehliche Verlangen, neues Territorium zu erobern. Die mehrfach ausgezeichneten, international eingeladenen Künstlerinnen (u.a. Carnegie Hall) faszinieren nicht nur durch ihren Stil sondern auch durch die Gabe, eine enge Verbindung zum Publikum herzustellen. Rosen Zahariev lebt in den USA. Er hat sich seit 1998 auf freie experimentelle Musik spezialisiert.

The shared passion for contemporary music and performance art is what unites the group around the three musicians Aga Dziubak/cello, Biliana Voutchkova/violin, Rosen Zahariev ‘roko’ piano/trumpet and the dancer/choreographer Ingo Reulecke. Both of these engaged Bulgarian chamber musicians are intrepid improvisationists. The share a passion for the unknown and the irresistible yearning for conquering new territory. These internationally acclaimed musicians, who for example have been invited to Carnegie Hall, are not just fascinating because of their style, but also through their talent in creating a rapport with their audiences. Rosen Zahariev lives in the US and since 1998 has specialised in free experimental music

10-15 minütiges solo von Seke Chimutengwende und im Anschluss 30 minütige Gruppenimprovisation.

Geschwindigkeit in der Improvisation und virtuose, humorvolle „Instant Choreograhpy“ zu fetziger Folkmusik – das ist das Markenzeichen des ersten Teils. Die Gruppe um Rick Nodine, Jamie Mc Carthy, Seke Chimutengwende und Gabriele Reuter ist ... almost made in London...die London Contemporary Dance School ihr gemeinsamer Hintergrund. Die beteiligten Choreografen, Tänzer und Musiker treten seit 2003 in verschiedenen Zusammensetzungen und zum ersten Mal in Deutschland auf.

Rick Nodine studierte mit den Pionieren der Kontakt Improvisation und war Professor an der London Contemporary Dance School. Jamie Mc Carthy studierte Musik und Komposition bei Gavin Bryars. Er arbeitet derzeit als Performer mit der Kanadischen Band The Hidden Cameras. Seke Chimutengwende war bis Dezember 2008 Mitglied der DV8 Physical Dance Company. Gabriele Reuter, Jane Leaney, Bryony Perkins studierten alle an der London Contemporary Dance School und arbeiten
seit einigen Jahren als selbstständige Choreografinnen und Tänzerinnen in unterschiedlichen Zusammenhängen.

Bios:
Rick Nodine has been studying CI for 18 years and teaching CI for 12 years. He began a performing career in the early 90's, and has appeared in many contexts including theatre, dance theatre, digital media, television, mixed ability, site specific and pure dance. In 2001 Rick became a member of staff at London Contemporary Dance School where he teaches Composition and Improvisation. For the past 12 years he has collaborated with many dancers, actors and musicians to create improvised performance. Rick's most recent choreographies; Come To Mamma premiered in the Spring Loaded Festival (London) in May 08 and his choreography for Shift youth dance company premiered in December 2008.
In spring 2008 Rick was Movement Director for The Revenges' Tragedy (Melly Still) at The National Theatre and he will be Movement Director for the Opera Rusalka at Glyndebourne in 2009.

Seke Chimutengwende was born in London and studied dance at Lewisham College and London Contemporary Dance School. Upon graduating in 2004, Seke undertook an apprenticeship with Arc Dance Company. Since 2005, Seke has performed in the work of Alias Cie, DV8 Physical Theatre, Lost Dog, Henrietta Hale, Karl Jay Lewin, Rannva Karrodottir, Tino Sehgal, Ruby Worth, Zephyr in Zanussi and 5 Men Dancing. Seke has been practicing and performing solo improvisation since meeting Andrew Morrish in 2006 and has studied and performed with Rick Nodine since 2001.

Jane Leaney trained at London Contemporary Dance School and went onto train in Action Theatre. She has appeared at The National Theatre in Every Good Boy Deserves Favour, War Horse and The Revenger's Tragedy. Other Theatre includes The masque of the Red Death and Faust for PunchDrunk and work with dance companies including Stacked Wonky, Temujin Dance and with Choreographers Rick Nodine and Gabrielle Reuter. Jane is also a freelance teacher and choreographer and a founding member of MudLotus - an Improvisation and Performance company.

Jamie McCarthy studied music with the composer Gavin Bryars, going on to play in Gavin's band for a few years. He has since worked for many years making music for dance and performance, with the odd diversion into film and radio. He was for a number of years Head of Music at London Contemporary Dance School, where he still works occasionally.

Current projects include making work with the visual performance company Fevered Sleep, the dance company Lost Dog, a sound installation 'Stilled', playing violin with band the Hidden Cameras and fronting his own band Dog of Hearts.

Bryony Perkins:
After graduating from the London Contemporary Dance School with first class honours Bryony joined the post graduate company Edge where she worked with Rosemary Butcher, Filip van Huffel, Jonathan Lunn and Beth Cassani and toured their work internationally. Since then she has been exploring the form of solo improvisation, danced for Rick Nodine in Re Re Re and Come to Mama, and co-founded Eade & Perkins Present… who will be presenting new work in Spring Loaded ‘09 at The Place. She is currently working with Nikky Smedley in The Tell Woman, a puppetry based dance Theatre production for children. Her choreographic commissions include two site-specific projects for Devon’s Torbay Arts Base and a collaboration with Oxford Samuel Beckett Theatre Trust Award winners Boileroom, whose debut show premiered at the Barbican in September 2007. As a musician she has performed at the Eden Project and Glastonbury Festival and is a singer with gospel choir Urban Voices, who recently performed at the Barbican.

Freestyle Special – Part 1

10–15-minute solo by Seke Chimutengwende followed by a 30-minute group improvisation.

The hallmarks of the first part include speed in improvisation and virtuoso, humorous ‘Instant Choreography’ all set to fantastic folk music. The grouping of Rick Nodine, Jamie McCarthy, Seke Chimutengwende and Gabriele Reuter is …almost made in London… the London Contemporary Dance School, their shared background. The participating choreographers, dancers and musicians have been performing together in various combinations since 2003. This is their first performance in Germany.

Gabriele Reuter lives in England and Berlin. Her connection to improvisation and contact improvisation makes up the basis of her work as dancer, teacher and choreographer. Since her studies in Leicester and London she has worked for Christoph Winkler, Sioned Huws, Frauke Requardt and Gesine Daniels among others. She has been dancing for Rick Nodine since 2003.
Since 2006 Gabriele has been based in Berlin and developing collaborative works in the fabrik Potsdam and in the Tanzfabrik Berlin. During 2008 she was an Artist in Residence with Dance4 in Nottingham and was an invited guest for the nottdance08 festival with her first solo “Inventur/Räumung” (“Inventory/Clearance”). After further guest appearances in Berlin and Santiago de Chile at the start of the year, in April she will also be participating in an artist exchange with the Springdance Festival in Utrecht, the Netherlands and the Spring Loaded 09 Season in Place Theatre in London.
Gabriele is a member of the organisation team of the monthly improvisation series Freistil at the Tanzfabrik.
