Ein informelles Setting bietet den Rahmen für die assoziative spielerische Performance von Jolika Sudermann und Alma Söderberg zu „Structured Freedom“. Wie in einem Brainstorming thematisiert das entspannte Duett sprechend die fortlaufende Entwicklung und Weiterentwicklung der Performance bis zum Aufführungsende. Diesem improvisierten Gespräch verleihen Sudermann und Söderberg in ihrer ersten Zusammenarbeit ein präzise choreografiertes musikalisches Eigenleben. Geste und Sprache übersetzt in rhythmisierten Klang.
Diese Arbeit war bereits erfolgreich bei Over Het IJ Festival, am Hetveem Theater in Amsterdam und bei Lucky Trimmer in Berlin zu sehen.
Jolika Sudermann und Alma Söderberg arbeiten seit 2008 zusammen. Ihre Begegnung an der Theaterschool in Amsterdam, wo Jolika Physical Theatre und Alma Choreografie studiert, führte zu dieser Auftragsarbeit für Over Het Ij festival in Amsterdam. Ihr gemeinsames Interesse gilt Sprache und Rhythmus. Ein zweites Duett ist 2009/10 geplant. Alma Söderberg aus Malmö, Schweden hat Flamenco, klassisches Ballett und zeitgenössischen Tanz studiert. Jolika Sudermann aus Deutschland ist Schauspielerin und Theatermacherin, ausgebildet in Ballett, Zirkuskunst, Tanztheater und Performance.

Dewey Dell wurde 2007 von den Geschwistern Teodora, Agata, Demetrio Castellucci und ihrem Freund Eugenio Resta gegründet. Sie teilen den künstlerisch formalen Einfluss der Stoa (School Rhythmic Movement, Cesena). Jeder von ihnen hat einen anderen Schwerpunkt in der gemeinsamen Arbeit ohne dabei das kollektive Moment des Materials aufzugeben. 2007 gewannen sie den Sonderpreis Giovani Danz’Autori 2007 bei dem Wettbewerb für junge italienische Choreografen.

This performance is mainly focused on the creation of a void between two characters.Two animals. Two figures. Two drawings.The first. Red. The cockThe second. White. The scorpion. Two natures that are reflected in the expression, in the behaviour, in the movement. It seems there is a vague, remote reference to the “cartoons”, to the “animation”. From time to time it is possible to listen to broken voices, moved by an agony. Might these voices be bits of cartoons that are deposited in our memory? Black eyelashes,
excessively long, surround the dark eyes of the two beings, the Cock and the Scorpion. Melancholic looks come out of the faces and a strange and powerful pride wraps them. Everything outcrops, a little bit and time after time. The Cock’s movement is haughty; it scans and observes the area as if it was the keeper of a mystery. The Scorpion’s movement is the precise, certain and mental stillness of the one who is in a standstill before attacking. There is an intangible, indescribable and arcane elegance. The red of the Cock, its colour becomes its movement. The white of the Scorpion, its suspension becomes its voice.
The black of the area becomes the time of a void relation. Perhaps I stand before an idea of cartoon. Just that.Teodora Castellucci |
