Mit dem Open Studio wird ein neues Forum in der Tanzfabrik eingeführt, welches im zweimonatigen Rhythmus künstlerische und theoretische Positionen der Choreografie, der Sound Studies, des Experimentalfilms und der Videokunst sowie der Philosophie, Theater- Tanz- und Kulturwissenschaft, vorstellt.
Studierende, Praktizierende und Experimentierende der genannten Disziplinen, die in Berlin leben, auf der Durchreise oder gerade in der Landung begriffen sind, werden eingeladen, in einem diskursiven Context Arbeitsproben ihrer künstlerischen Praxis einem Fachpublikum und einer interessierten Öffentlichkeit zu präsentieren.
Der Austausch und eine vitale Begegnung zwischen der unterschiedlichen künstlerischen Praxis der Disziplinen und ihrer Protagonisten soll damit angeregt, bewegt und ermöglicht werden; Arbeitsprozesse und Wahrnehmungsfragen aus den verschiedenen Perspektiven werden erfahrbar gemacht und diskutiert.
Zeitgenössische Entwicklungen philosophischer, choreografischer, musikalischer (Sound Studies) und filmischer Fragestellungen (Experimentalfilm/Videokunst) sollen gegenübergestellt und konfrontiert, ihr wechselseitiger Einfluß hinterfragt und sichtbar gemacht werden.
Im Rahmen von fabrikationen 04 wird das Open Studio am 31. Oktober mit einer Lecture von Alex Arteaga, Komponist, Soundinstallationskünstler und Dozent an der UdK, eröffnet.
Alex Arteaga wird den Studiengang Sound Studies / SoundXchange mit seinen Inhalten, Schwerpunkten und dem aktuellen Projekt in Adlershof vorstellen. Seit dem Wintersemester '02/ 03 wird an der Universität der Künste Berlin im Rahmen des Projekts soundXchange ein Modellversuch zur Entwicklung eines Postgraduierten Studiums geführt. In den vier Fächern dieses Studiums - akustische Anthropologie und -Ökologie, experimentelle Klanggestaltung, auditive Mediengestaltung, akustische Konzeption - werden verschiedene Möglichkeiten der theoretischen und gestalterischen Arbeit mit Klang erarbeitet.

Lígia Soares, eine junge Choreografin aus Lissabon, die ab Herbst 2004 Residence-Künstlerin der Tanzfabrik ist, wird Arbeitsproben ihrer aktuellen Produktion “vitalcurriculum“ zeigen und zur Diskussion stellen. Im Rahmen der Residency wird sie für ihr Projekt Interviews mit Berlinern und Berlinbesuchern führen und die Lebensläufe der Interviewpartner für diese Theaterperformance nutzen. “It mainly interests me to confront the preponderance of professional and active life when we look at people in a city. Competing with the exaltation of feelings, ideals, desires that hide behind a professional identity ...“
Am 23./24.10. stellt sie ebenfalls ihre Performance-Installation “The Natural Disorder of Things“ vor.
Studierende des Theaterwissenschaftlichen Instituts der FU Berlin werden das gesamte fabrikationen 04 Programm, unter dem Aspekt von “Pathos und Emotion“, observieren, analysieren und auswerten, und ihre Beobachtungen und Ergebnisse in einer Lecture vorstellen. Der performativen Bedeutung und Ausdruckskraft der "Lecture" und ihren Performern wird damit ein Forum zum Ausprobieren, Üben und Spielen außerhalb der Akademischen Institution gegeben.
With the introduction of the Open Studio series, we will be initiating a new forum at the Tanzfabrik. Every two months there will be space to present new artistic and theoretical positions in choreography, in sound studies, in experimental film and video art, as well as philosophy, theater, dance and cultural studies.
Students, practitioners and those experimenting in the aforementioned fields, who are living in Berlin, just passing through or who are in the midst of arrival, will be invited to present samples of their work in a discursive context to their peers, and both a specialized and general public.
The Open Studio wants to encourage and enable the meeting and communication between the different artistic practices of various disciplines and their protagonists; work processes and individual points of view at the root of different perspectives will become tangible and open for discussion. Contemporary developments in philosophical, choreographic, musical (Sound Studies) and filmic (experimental film/video art) research will be compared and confronted with each other, their interdependence questioned and made apparent.
In the context of fabrikationen 04 we will begin the OPEN STUDIO series on the 31st October with a lecture by Alex Arteaga, composer, sound installation artist and lecturer at the UdK.
Arteaga will be explaining the curriculum, focus and current project of the Sound Studies/SoundXchange university course in Adlershof. Since winter semester '02/'03, the Udk Berlin has been running a first test series in developing a new post-graduate program as part of the soundXchange project. Various possibilities of thinking about and designing work with sound are developed in the four sections of this course - acoustic anthropology and ecology, experimental sound design, auditory media design and acoustic conception. www.udk-sound.de
Lígia Soares, a young choreographer from Lisbon, who is currently artist in residence at the Tanzfabrik, will show bits of her new production “vitalcurriculum” and offer these up for discussion.
As part of her residency, she will be holding interviews with Berliners and visitors to Berlin for her new production, using the vitas of these interview partners for this new piece. On the 23rd/24th October, she will also be presenting her work “The Natural Disorder of Things”.
Students from the Theatre Studies Institute of the FU Berlin will observe, analyze and assess the complete fabrikationen 04 program under the aspect “patois and emotion” and present their observations and results in a lecture. The performative meaning and expressive power of the “lecture” and its performers will thereby be given the space to experiment, practice and play outside of the academic institution. |
