Lígia Soares "vitakcurriculum"
Ligia Soares

Conception/ interpretation: Lígia Soares Music: João Lucas Costume design : Tania Franco
It mainly interests me to confront the preponderance of professional and active life when we look at people in a city. Competing with the exaltation of the feelings, ideals, desires that hide behind a professional identity. It interests me to show the fragility that hides behind the profession, the production, projects, plans, the precariousness of the integration of the human being in the world of concretisations. Aside and in the same direction of human fragility in face of the need of concretisation and somatization of activities, I also wish to be able to romanticise and glorify what turned just into a curriculum item, show the visions, the ambitions, the conquest, the satisfaction and the recognition.

This performance is the first part of a project called "Sleeping Beauties / Ultra Sexy Amazons", in which I will steal the identities of six female icons: Sleeping Beauty, Snow White, Cinderella, Ripley, Catwoman and Mystic. These six characters are for me like many possibilities of self-fiction, in order to emphasize the idea of a fluid identity. "Sleeping Beauties" is a reading of the two fairy tales "Sleeping Beauty" and "Snow White", "Snow White" becoming a kind of erotic dream of Sleeping Beauty. If "Sleeping Beauties" is a counter-production to the image of passivity of these two icons, it also takes a look at hate in relation to sexual identity.
