Internationales Raum-Performance-Projekt.
Public Encounter 3: In The Wunderkammer

In ihrer dritten öffentlichen Begegnung mit dem Publikum lädt die Gruppe von A Future Archeology in ihre Wunderkammer ein, um ihren Arbeitsprozesse der letzten drei Wochen mit Gästen zu teilen. Die Ansammlung aus ungeordneten Artefakten, Filmen, Diskursen, Interviews, (soziale) Choreografien ist in ein Ordnungsraster aufgenommen, welches das Verhältnis von Material und Ordnung, von Raumpolitik und individueller Ermächtigung, von Gegebenem und Unsichtbarem thematisiert.
Seit Mitte März treffen sich im Studio 14 der Uferstudios im Wedding europäische und ägyptische KünstlerInnen und Kulturschaffende aus den Bereichen Choreografie, Architektur und Dramaturgie, um einen Raum und Produktionsort zu Fragestellungen und Praktiken von (kultureller) Differenz, Zusammenarbeit und künstlerischem Tun zu schaffen. Diese dreiwöchige ‘Gemeinschaft auf Probe’ unterschiedlicher Teilhaber verschmilzt, in sich immer wieder verändernden Versuchen, diskursive Methoden mit Strategien des Tuns, um über das Zusammenspiel aus Handeln und Verhandeln, aus Verhalten und Aushalten, aus Aktion und Agon Möglichkeiten für die Politik einer differenten Gemeinschaft zu destillieren.
Der Titel A Future Archeology spielt darauf an, dass vermeintlich gewachsene (soziale) Strukturen freigelegt werden müssen (Archäologie), um sie in ihrer Gemachtheit verstehen und die Potenziale für Veränderung in der Zukunft (Future) realisieren zu können. Das von Silke Bake, Adham Hafez, Ismail Fayed und Peter Stamer initiierte internationale Projekt wird 2013 in den Städten Berlin, Wien und Kairo in unterschiedlichen Kontexten und Herangehensweisen realisiert.

Public Encounter 3: In The Wunderkammer

Elaborating on the poetry of digging, excavating, exploring, demarcating and annotating, A Future Archeology project team invites the public to an evening where the project's content and context are both dealt with as material of work, opened generously to the guests to probe and relate to. Coming at the end of a three weeks residency, In The Wunderkammer is an invitation into the project's own proliferation of material and library of references that informed the communication and creation over the previous weeks in the Berlin phase of this project, raising questions on what is 'work material' and how is it handled within a setting that is both international and trans-medial.
Since the middle of March, Egyptian and European artists coming from the fields of choreography, architecture, and dramaturgy meet at the Uferstudios in Wedding to create a space and production site for practices and questions of (cultural) difference, collaboration, and artistic process. During three weeks, this ‚community on test-run’ a.o. amalgamates discursive approaches with strategies of doing, attempting at discussing and distilling a politics of and for diversity.
The both ambiguous and ambitious title A Future Archeology insinuates that allegedly grown (social) structures are to be excavated (archeology) in order to comprehend their constructedness and embrace a (coming) potential for difference. In 2013, the international project initiated by Silke Bake, Adham Hafez, Ismail Fayed and Peter Stamer, takes places in Berlin, Vienna, and Cairo, taking into account different approaches and cultural contexts.

Nach CriticaliTea: In The Drawing Room vom vergangenen Freitag öffnet “A Future Archeology“ am Montag, dem 25. März zum zweiten Mal seinen Arbeitsprozess. Die Beteiligten laden das Publikum In The Workshop zum Bauen einer Raumstruktur ein, die im Studio 14 in einem gemeinsamen Arbeitsprozess entstehen soll. Wie ist das Verhältnis eines (künstlerischen, imaginierten, konkreten) Modells zu seiner Realisierung? Bildet Bauen ein Modell der Wirklichkeit ab oder geht es vielmehr um die Realisierung einer ?Wirklichkeit des Modells?? Welche Bedingungen für Gemeinsamkeit braucht und schafft Zusammenarbeit? Welches Material, welche Vorstellung von Materialität erscheint für das Bauen einer Raumstruktur sinnvoll? Wir halten nicht nur Arbeitshandschuhe für Sie bereit ...

Sowohl in Nordafrika als auch in Europa stellt sich derweil die Frage: In welcher Gesellschaft wollen wir leben? Welche Bedingungen müssen wir dafür schaffen? Zehn ägyptische und europäische KünstlerInnen und Kulturschaffende aus den Feldern Choreografie, Architektur und Theater bauen über einen Zeitraum von fünf Monaten in Berlin, Wien und Kairo Raumstrukturen, die diesen Heraus-forderungen im jeweiligen Kontext begegnen wollen.
Zwischen dem 11. und 31. März 2013 trifft sich die Bau- und Performancegruppe zum ersten intensiven Forschungs- und Arbeitsprojekt im Uferstudio 14 in Berlin.
Das Projekt "A Future Archeology" wird unterstützt vom Hauptstadtkulturfonds Berlin, dem Goethe-Institut Kairo, dem International Research Center "Interweaving Performance Cultures" an der Freien Universität Berlin, der Tanzfabrik Berlin und von HaRaKa Dance Development and Research in Kairo.
In North Africa as well as in Europe, there is a similar question currently at stake: What kind of society do we want to live in? What are the conditions we need to create for our lives? Over a period of five months, ten Egyptian and European artists from the fields of choreography, architecture and theatre build spatial structures in Berlin, Vienna and Cairo that address these challenges within the respective context.
From March 11 to 31, 2013, the construction and performance group meets for the first extensive research and working period at Uferstudio 14 in Berlin.
